Five years later, he stole a gun, a horse, and a saddle from a ranch in Sundance, Wyoming, and coined the name "the Sundance Kid." Eventually, he fell into thieving and bank robberies, winding up with a group called the "Wild Bunch," headed by infamous outlaw Butch Cassidy. That's where he is now, part of a rough and tumble gang that finds themselves and their heists in newspaper headlines, their names on wanted posters.

In the movie Sundance comes from, Butch is his best friend, as well as the brains of the operation. He's content to follow Butch's plans -- though they don't always work how precisely how Butch envisions.

Character's personality:
To say Sundance is laconic might be stretching the powers of exaggeration to the snapping point. He's quiet, a man of few words and blunt actions. He's a sharpshooter -- maybe the sharpshooter, who could hit a gnat in the eye at fifty paces. He's a bit strange and set in his ways: he might be a thief and a con man, but if you accuse him of cheating, you'll be dead before you hit the ground, or even before you've got time to be surprised by the sound of gunfire. He doesn't consider himself a learned man, instead relying on Butch and his girlfriend Etta Place to do the thinking and the talking. Sundance takes his own path, but he'll usually come back around to find Butch again, if only because life is more entertaining with him around.

Sundance isn't as easy-going as his pal Butch: he might be a dog on a leash, but he'll still take you out if you insult him, without even blinking. He's a cold-blooded killer who won't think twice about drawing on someone as fast as they can spit, but he doesn't consider himself a career criminal. He's happy to have someone else do the thinking for him, and to go along with the plan as long as it doesn't go south. He's fearless in a shoot-out or a fight, but terrified of water.

And he's not much of a fan of white skimmer hats, either.

Character's skills/abilities/powers:
Sundance is an excellent rider, a decent ranchhand, and a notorious thief, but where he really excels is in marksmanship. He's deadly with the six-shooters slung at his hips: fast as a snake and just as lethal. He's a gunslinger first and a crook second, and he'll solve an argument over cards with a duel without blinking an eye.

Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.:
Sundance will be bringing the Colt he wears at his hip, along with ammunition.

Are you bringing your character to ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?:
Nope, and nope.

If you answered yes above, briefly summarize how they were changed by and what challenges they faced in the climate of their previous game(s):
N/A.

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them?
To be honest, where do I not want to play Sundance? Admittedly, I want to play him in 10F because Butch is there, and Sundance kind of needs Butch around, if only so he can be near someone who doesn't mind when he spends over an hour without saying a word. Mostly I plan on him hanging furtively around the bar, trying to avoid conversation and being COMPLETELY UNABLE TO.

Writing Sample #1:
Here.

Writing Sample #2 (optional):

comments
